While we all enjoy ordering something online and having it delivered directly to our doorstep, we now know this convenience comes at a significant cost to our physical and mental health.
In 2015, the US Surgeon General declared a call to action for walking as part of a national emergency to the obesity and health crisis. In 2018, the first-ever Minister of Loneliness was appointed in the UK. And just last weekend the Globe and Mail published an article about our "convenience crisis" and cited the health problems associated with isolation and increased laziness as serious downsides of convenience.
